FINALLY...proof I actually snowboard!

Yes... shock horror. I actually have snowboarded while here in Whistler during a record snow season! hehe... I must admit I am not good at the sport... but I am trying. (when not injured that is... sprained my ankle while on a bushwalk this week- not good!)

Firstly... I need to thank Rach for helping me snowboard! Without her yelling at me not to fall... and threatening me with her ski pole I would not be turning down the mountain! hehe... So a big thanks to Rach!

Its great now though... as I actually get excited to see the snow falling and think about heading up the mountain! Bring it on..!

Its all about the hair...birthdays...and Aussie Day!

I figured what better way to celebrate my 23rd year on this earth... then having a hair change! So my birthday started off with lunch at our favourite "Southside Diner"... then I went to the hairdresses... and then the nights festivities began! Thanks to Mon, Rach and Cath for celebrating with me..!

Then we headed into my work... where they filled me with more cake, a few drinks... and a few more drinks!

Now onto good old Aussie Day... where green and gold takes over Whistler Village! Its crazy... but alot of fun!

Claire and the K-feds...

I had the pleasure of partying with fellow trashbag, Craire, in Whistler for a night recently...and here is how the night panned out...


Anna, Craire and I had dinner at a cafe in the village....managed to finish off a flagan of strawberry daqaries...have a round of shots bought for us while mingling with the locals! and then...

hit the dance floor at Tommys 80's night.....bump into Katie Burn from Uni...and Craire danced the night away with this northern beaches boy- whom we shall say liked to "take his pants off"!

then we had the pleasure of mingling with the real Whistler locals... or "k-feds" as we like to call them! (hmmm...I wonder why!)

And what better way to end the night... then in a snow storm on our way home! I had a great night with the girls... much to say I don't think I have recovered since! hehe... xo

I have something to tell you all... hehe! No I haven't fallen in love with a Canadian. My sister Abby is engaged! So I just wanted to CONGRATULATE them on my blog! So congrats to Ab and Ben... welcome officially to the family Ben!

And HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone! Mine was full of drinking games, snow, drinking games....and snow!

Now I better get back to finding that Canadian snowboarder to fall in love with!

DREAMS DO COME TRUE....

Yes...I've always dreamt of having a WHITE Christmas and I've finally had it! Now what a Christmas of ups and downs! It all started Christmas Eve when I (as the 'hostess with the mostess' at the "Old Spaghetti Factory") seated Kelly Clarkson in our restaurant! I only realised after one of the servers told me. I had chatted with her and her fam about being from Aus..and she ate a whole plate of spag bol! Go Kelly! And she left a 50 dollar tip! (those who have worked in the hospitality industry over here know how important tips are...seeing as you earn 8-9 dollars an hour!) Okay so after being struck with celebrity fever what shall one do but head out to the pub for some Christmas Eve bevvy's! Only to have my night end with my camera being stolen... my celebrity high gone...and Mon, Cath and I almost burning down our house (who doesnt want nachos at 330 in the morning!)!!!

Putting the camera incident behind me... I then had an amazing Christmas Day with my Whis family! We woke up to find snow falling outside... we had carols playing (thanks to Mon's mum)... opened pressies around the tree (which Cath and Mon decided to chop down with a kitchen knife after stumbling home from a night out on the town! hehe... it's supposedly not illegal!)... built a snowman... had a snowball fight... ate ham...drank egg nog and cocktails... and then went to off to work...only to come home and have more cocktails! A VERY Merry Christmas indeed!

MY WHISTLER HOME...

This is our home... a loft apartment in a lodge that also has a gym and hot tub! Plus its not far from the Village...just a bus ride away! Mon, Cath , Lee and I are all living together... its all good! (so far... hehe!)

FINALLY... just so you all believe I am actually learning to snowboard I thought I would post a photo of my board! (a.k.a "man board" seeing as I was too tall for a girls board I had to buy a guys one! boo to being abnormal! hehe...)

Yellow snow does exist!!!

The things you discover after a few bevvy's... yuck! On our way home the other night we happen to stumble across this patch of snow (as pointed out by Cath) that we believe is wee... although we didn't see the culprit! Either way... we got away quickly!

On another note... we volunteered for the Whistler Film Festival this week and got to see a heap of shorts for free. Oh and we saw the Aussie movie Candy... crazy! And then we got a free party at the end where we had lots of yagameister (not sure how to spell it) shots!
